That is a good ideal, but we need to come out with a date and place.

places that I have in mind include minnesota, charlotte and maryland. the reason being that there is a big liberian population so we can get some support. I will come up with a complete plan by friday but I will need the support of everyone

I think Charlotte sounds great for the First one. If we are to do it every year, we can alternate locations.

Great idea. Charlotte seems like an ideal location too. Like Cyril said we could make it rotational.

We're all singing the same song which is great. My suggestion would be to go with the majority location which is NC and set it up for July 26, 2010 in conjunction with the local Liberian Association there (since it's our original Independence Day). We have to let them know that LAVA is non-Political first of all, and would take charge of the Ball. Or better yet, LAVA can host her own Ball by herself and the date remains the same (July 26, 2010) and still have a great turn-up.

I gree with Myer, Cyril and the rest of LAVA family that the Ball has to be rotational. It also has to go to the Great Republic Of Liberia. This will also be a proper way to reach our Liberian Communities States-side as well as in Liberia annually.

In so doing, we can add to our events mentioned by brother Spencer, Safety and other Educationally workshops be held at the specified location or community a day before the main event. We can brainstorm other good stuffs to add to our workshop.

In addition, I would suggest a Conference call once a month for members of LAVA to part-take before we come up with an official date. As for our brothers and sisters that are deployed, their point of contacts
should be given to brother Spencer. So if need be, we can send them "Care Packages". That is all I have for now.
